Unveiling of Aruba Airport Authority Sculpture Garden

The official unveiling of AAA Sculpture Garden was held this past Friday November 23rd at Aruba’s Reina Beatrix International Airport. Credit for the Sculpture Garden went to the head of the “Cultural Consultant Committee” Claudia Ruiz-Vasquez and her colleagues for a job well done to incorporate art and culture at the airport for visitors arriving and departing Aruba. The Sculpture Garden is part of the upgrading process at the Airport.

Aruba World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships Opening

The opening ceremonies for the first WTF World Cup Tae Kwon Do Team Championships was held this past weekend with over 300 athletes who participated in championship games. Among the attendees for the opening ceremonies were Dr. Richard Visser and Min. Benny Sevinger who spoke about the growing interest of Tae Kwon Do in Aruba within the community.

Skyline Art Exhibition

Skyline is a collection of abstract painting recently launched by local artist Grace Ashruf. The exhibition area was filled with quite a collection of art enthusiasts. Exhibitions by Grace were on display during the Aruba International Film Festival and Wine Food and Art Festival held earlier this year.

Appreciation week at the Marriott Aruba Resort

Marriott Aruba Resort supports the community program Fundacion Pa Nos Comunidad. Through the efforts of the Marriott associates, a fun walk was organized from the Marriott Resort to Arashi and back, which funds were raised. All proceeds from the event were donated to the local food bank.

Who is knocking dear children? It's Sinterklaas at Taste of Belgium

Sinterklaas is coming to visit Taste of Belgium. In keeping up with tradition, all children are welcomed starting today to place their shoe near the fireplace with carrot and hay for Sinterkaas horse. Presents will be shared and kids will have a great time at Fun City. Parents can enjoy a drink or two at Taste of Belgium Vrijmibo 2-for-1 happy hour from 5 to 7 pm.

Monster Trucks exhilarating shows left fans wanting more

Team Aruba Racing also known as Brute Racing Organization made a huge hit organizing The Return of Monster Trucks 2012. The success of “The Return of Monster Trucks 2012 in Aruba” surpassed everyone's expectations. The event started out with three shows and then an encore weekend’ which had a sold out crowd nightly with more than 6000 people in the stadium. This year included Aruba talents and some of the big names in Monster Truck including: Bigfoot #18, Avenger, Lucas Oil Stabilizer, Star Marshall and Chalkboard Chuck.

Sinterklaas arrival on Aruba

Spectators of all ages took to the streets to witness the arrival of Sinterklaas and his Zwarte Pieten. After Sinterklaas arrived by boat, his carriage made it's way through the streets as he greeted the kids and his Zwarte Pieten entertained the crowd. Between his arrival and the night of his birthday, before going to bed, children put their shoes outside, with treats in it for Sinterklaas's horse. They add a letter which they’ve written for Sinterklaas, telling him what gift they would like, sing a song and go to bed.
